Cylindrical Beer Fermenter – Hobby
Cylindrical Beer Fermenter – Hobby
The Letina Cylindrical Conical Fermenter is a premium vessel engineered specifically for producing high-quality craft beer. Designed as a compact, accessible version of our heavy-duty ZB tanks, this fermenter can be used for the entire lifecycle of your beer: fermentation, maturation, and sedimentation.
Operating safely at a working pressure of up to 0.5 bar, this vessel features an outstanding operating temperature range of -5°C up to +30°C. What makes this tank special is its tall, funnel-shaped conical bottom. This design naturally collects and separates unwanted yeast and sediment, allowing you to discharge them easily after primary fermentation while keeping the clean beer safely inside.
Complete Process Control: Seamlessly handle fermentation, cold maturation, and final sedimentation in a single vessel.
Broad Temperature Range: Operates flawlessly between -5°C and +30°C, allowing you to brew warm ales or crash-cool crisp lagers.
Funnel-Shaped Bottom: Naturally collects heavy sediment and dead yeast at the base for easy removal without moving the beer.
Dual Discharge Ports: Features clean and total discharge 1″ Tri-Clamp ports on the cone to harvest brilliant, clear beer.
Integrated Temperature Control: A built-in cooling jacket on the coat and a probe sleeve allow you to hold precise fermentation temps.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of the -5°C to +30°C temperature range?
This is a massive advantage for craft brewers. At +30°C, you have the warmth required for specialized farmhouse ales and kveik yeast strains. At -5°C, you can crash-cool your beer to near freezing. This process (known as cold conditioning or lagering) forces proteins and yeast out of suspension, giving you a brilliantly clear final product.
How does the tall conical bottom help reduce product loss?
In a flat-bottomed vessel, yeast settle in a thin layer across the entire bottom. To separate the beer, you have to rack it off, which always leaves good beer behind. With our steep conical shape, gravity pulls all that sediment into a tight, compact plug at the absolute tip of the cone. You simply open the bottom valve to purge the waste, leaving 100% of the clean beer behind.
How does this tank compare to your larger commercial ZB series?
Think of this as a smaller, pilot-sized version of our legendary commercial ZB tanks. It is built with the same premium stainless steel, exact geometry, and smooth welds. We scaled down the volume and utilized accessible 1″ Tri-Clamp fittings to make it perfect for pilot batches or high-end home cellars, without losing Letina’s commercial-grade quality.
